Can you post a file with just the surface in question?
@Helvetosaur : I got rid of it and i am not able to replicate the problem at the moment.
if it happens again i will post it
Hi Filippo - there have been a couple of fixes to ExtendSrf - this might be fixed in SR4 - but please post examples whenever possible for this sort of bug or apparent bug.
-Pascal

RH8 EXTEND SURFACE BUG.3dm (47.9 KB)
I’m on Rhino 8.4.24037.15001 and the problem occurs with every surface I create.
I get the correct result in the latest V7.

I’ve been getting this bug also. See the attached video to see this behaviour.
Basically the surface seems to jump a little when it’s being extended.
Sometimes it seems to fix if you shrink trimmed surfaces. Usually I need to untrim and retrim the whole surface again.

Dear Pascal,
I have the same problem (both in Rh 8.3 and 8.4) but not for each surfaces.
as I extend the surface, it projects to another place
I attached the file
Surfaces.3dm (836.7 KB)
Best regards
Hi Christian, I know… I’ve added your comment to the bug track item.
@GaeChrisRuvio - this appears to be fixed in our latest 8.6 builds here.
-Pascal
Hi Pascal,
I’m on the latest SR and this behaviour is still present. I noticed this bug recently, last week it didn’t appear.
Best regards
Hi @Apolato what Pascal mentioned is the latest 8.6 src. You can download and install this by enabling statistics and change updates from service release to service release candidate
If that’s no option then you can also wait for 8.6 which will be released next week if all goes well.
Hi @Gijs,
I’m sorry for the confusion.
I am now on 8.6.24093.11001 and the problem still exists.
Best regards.
@Apolato Looking at the YT again, this is not targeted at 8.6 but at 8.7, let me check
@Gijs Ah, ok, so it will be on the 8.7. As you and Pascal mentioned 8.6 I thought it was already resolved.
This bug is very very very annoying as I have to untrim and split again every surface for an extend.
Thank you,
Best regards.
@Apolato I can send you a pm with a link to a more recent internal build if that helps you, but be aware it might contain other bugs, since it is much less tested. The example surface youChristian posted does work better (though not perfect) in the latest 8.7
Thank you @Gijs if it introduces other bugs I prefer to stick with this SRC and wait for the 8.7.
Best regards.
