I want to export quality colour files for 3D printing. In the past I preferred VRML but that has no options for exporting sub-divisions in version 7. In the OBJ exporter there is an option to “Use Render Meshes” under the meshes tab which preserves some sub-divisions. This does at least produce some improved geometry export. However this does not match the quality achievable when exporting STL files where the subdivisions produce very good quality results. Is there something I am missing?
Hello - can you provide a simple example of what you do not like in the export compared to a Rhino object?

I have attached an image showing 3 exports from the same file created in Rhino 7. I am not sure what you mean by “compared to a Rhino object”?
Hello - Rhino should be able to export as accurate a mesh as you need to any mesh format - please use the Mesh command then export the resulting mesh. In the detailed controls of the meshing stage of the export will give you the control you need - you can set ‘Maximum distance edge to surface’ , for example, to .01 (just a guess).

Thanks Pascal - that sounds like what I need to do. Really appreciated.
