Anyone have a script for this?
It’s quicker to not have everything in blocks, but a coworker is using Solidworks which means that everything must be in blocks to be manageable for him when he imports a STEP from me.
Right now, one of us must suffer.
Yeah… I made some baby steps on this a while ago but have not had time to sit down and finish the job. It would be handy.

I stumbled across an older post where you shared your script, thank you for sharing that by the way!
While the script can be helpful in smaller files, from time to time I happen to work on huge STEP files with an absurd amount of nuts & bolts. Is there a way to change the script where all the same block instances are exploded onto a single Layer? That would speed up the data cleanup tremendously.
