Is it possible for Rhino 6 to keep layer visibility if I am exploding a linked file? Here is a file linked as a block (please note that some layers are hidden):
You are right - it doesn’t appear to happen, but this method is very problematic if you have multiple linked files with the same layer name (which happens a lot). I would like to be able to handle layer structure the same way as AutoCAD was using “bind: bind” or “bind: insert”. In other words, I would like to have a block name::sublayers structure, and method used by me provides this, except it switches on all of the layers.
Hi Pawel,
I’ve filed this item as a wish - RH-49038
Note that we have similar open issues from 2013 and I would suggest that you look into using the Active style for the time being. You could manually move the layers from the inserted file under a new layer to make sure that the layer structure from the linked file stays intact.
