I would like to know if there is any way to edit a cageedit in circular format, in which I can choose the amount of points as well.

yes you can use an object as a cage.
you will likely want a single surface and you will want to have it be degree 3 or higher so you can deform it. (my cylinder shown is deg 1)

Is it possible to use a circular edge and have control points around it and one in the center like this? I want to use it to band!

It not works with the squares because of edges.

you can use any object as a cage, simply a revolve a shape and assign it as a cage.
