Error with importing .pat files for hatching

Hello,

I’m uploading some custom hatches and getting this error that they’re not supported. Any way around this?

Best,
Paul

@mary - any idea here?

-Pascal

Hi Paul -

I can’t tell if this is happening with specific *.pat files or generally with any *.pat file that you are trying. Can you post one that fails on your end?
-wim

Hi Wim!

I tested a few different files…All return the same message. I’ve created one using a makeHatch script, one is downloaded from a CAD website, and one from here on the forum. I do have the Custom Hatch Maker plugin installed and I may try uninstalling it and seeing if that makes a difference.

Hatches.zip (16.8 KB)

Best,
Paul

Also it looks like you can’t upload .pat files so let me know if there’s any trouble with that zipped folder!

Hi Paul -

No problems with the zip. I’ve added the *.pat extension to the list of eligible files here.

Those appear to work fine here in Rhino 7:

Please run the Rhino SystemInfo and copy-paste the result here.
-wim

I just solved it by uninstalling the Custom Hatch Maker plugin

But here’s the system info in case it’s useful for anything

Hm… actually no, the error came back up again when I tried to drop the .PAT file in…

Hi @pdfaze,
You can import the .Pat file into Rhino.
However, there is no “drag and drop” support of .Pat’s, to what the the error is referring.

You need to go to OptionsHatches, and pick the Import button.

You can select all three .Pats.
And follow the prompts on the screen.

When they are imported, use the Hatch command to assign hatches to the close planar curves.

Let us know if this works for you.
Sincerely,
Mary Ann Fugier

That worked! Thank you
