Drawing on the Cplane with Geometry in front of It

Hello, I’m having an issue with a workflow that I’m assuming there must be a good trick to. I created a new C plane for one wall of my project, and I’m trying to draw some lines on the wall that go until the square columns that protrude out of it. Even with the C plane on the back wall, the line automatically snaps to the front of the pillar. I tried turning on planar mode, thinking that would make the lines stay on the C plane. No success as of yet

If anyone knows a way to draw on that back wall where the C plane is located without changing the viewport? I’m using Rhino 8 on Mac if that changes anything. Any ideas are greatly appreciated

Rob

disable Osnap and work in wireframe view..

turn on project ?

Thanks Ben and Tom, both useful tips.
