Drawing in Top View with Snaps on one Level/CPlane only

Hello everyone,

I’m currently trying to draw in the top view as one would in AutoCAD or ArchiCAD, focusing on one plane only. My main goal is to create 2D lines and shapes on a single level while being able to snap to endpoints, midpoints, etc… Ideally, I want to set a construction plane (C-Plane) at a specific Z-height so that all my drawing actions adhere strictly to that plane. Furthermore, is there a workflow to synchronize the CPlane from the Perspective view with the one in the Top view to ensure they are identical?

I’ve attached a sketch to illustrate what I’m trying to achieve (activated “End” as an Osnap option and set “Planar”).

Any tips, tricks, or settings that could help me accomplish this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks a lot!

You can create named cplanes and use the project option in the Osnap panel …,

Locking a layer or some selected geometries can be helpful to limit snaps
