Display color in v8

When I go to object “Properties/Display Color/Custrom…” no color selection appears. This worked fine in v7. Not surewhat I’m missing.

This has changed in V8. If an object is color by layer, you see this in Properties:

If you click on the ‘cake’ symbol, you get the color picker.

If you choose a color, you then see this:

Thanks. It was white and I couldn’t see the color swatch.
