Currently getting lots of errors with Grasshopper plugins referencing various rhino sdk versions, causing Revit 2024 to crash.
I use both grasshopper and rhino for lots of modelling, and rhino.inside for lots of Revit work.
Becoming a headache to move / uninstall packages each time I want to use rhino.inside, and then reinstall packages when I switch back to rhino. Also, wont work if I have a copy of grasshopper open, that is using plugins, and I want to open rhino inside.
Can we isolate grasshopper plugin settings?
An option to tell grasshopper not to look for plugins in /packages or / libraries
It sounds like this is referring to both Revit Addins and Rhino/Grasshopper plugins. Enscape being the typical conflict, where users having Rhino Enscape and Revit Encscape loaded at the same time will cause an issue.
One complication is that plugins can load from different folders than McNeel default, so isolating the grasshopper default folders might not be enough.
To be clear, you are looking to have a dedicated folder where grasshopper only looks when opening RiR in Revit? What version of Rhino are you using?
Yes that is exactly correct - I don’t have enscape for revit installed., I do have it for rhino, but disabled as I do not use it much at all.
When I went through the revit journal after crashes, grasshopper plugins are referencing various rhino version SDK’s, and I assume this is what could be causing the crash - as when I remove all packages and run ‘vanilla’ grasshopper, I have no issues.
Is there a way, perhaps a .ini file or something that can tell RiR to look in an empty directory for plugins?
Otherwise I am zipping / unzipping packages and libraries on each run.

Found this thread, and I will try to firstly isolate rhino settings, and hopefully within that use grasshopperdeveloper settings or similar to disable plugins.
