Hi
Im pretty sure years ago in Rhino3D I was able to select dimension then click on two points hold down a key and then type a unit that would then place the dimension at that point. Is that still possible and how?
Thank you in advance

Ian,
Yes there are several drafting tools in Rhino such as Linear Dimension, Aligned Dimension, etc. Here is a video I found that explains the distance, angle, and other measuring tools, as well as the Dimension features.
Hi Jason
Thanks for posting but unfortunately it does not answer my question.
Well it’s not entirely clear what exactly you’re talking about–maybe you mean pick the first point, enter the length, pick a point for the direction?–but certainly no functionality has been removed.
ok screenshot illustrating what I would like to do.
select dimension (Horizontal) click on the green dot then blue dot (two measuring points). I used to be able to hold down a key and select say the red dot and then type 8mm which then allows the resting point of the dim to be 8mm away from the red dot
Well you don’t need to pick those points or hold anything down, you can just type a distance while dragging anything (including a dimension point) and it will be restricted to that distance.
I realise you can enter a distance after clicking the first two posts but what if you do not know the distance of blue? Im pretty sure earlier versions of rhino maybe v3 you held down shift/left click and then a figure it would move.
Hi @IanB
You need to turn on “Implied from” under Smarttrack settings and then set a single Smarttrack point.
