Detail view Won't export to dwg

Having no luck exporting detail view out as a dwg. I’ve also been having no luck using the adobe pdf printing out as a vector document, so i’ve been using the inbuilt rhino pdf exporter to take drawings from rhino through illustrator and from there exporting as dwg. But surely all detail views, expecially when set as wireframe views, should be exportable directly from the layout view as a DWG drawing.
