when pattern is by object and object is by layer then it definitely should adopt color from detail view layer color since it overrides model layer color. if it is not the case it does not work properly.

This is another example of why Rhino needs a class / pen system alongside layers. Trying to manage all graphic and organisational control through layers alone is not a robust solution, especially for architecture.

If an object takes a color from a layer, and the layer can have a color set per Detail, then the object’s section should respect this.
