Hello -
Please run the SystemInfo
command in Rhino and copy/paste the results here.

Hello - the first thing to try is to update the Intel video drivers to the latest available from the Intel website.
-Pascal
Thanks, Pascal! Will do and report back.
also, do you have any sub object material assignments? If so there was a recurring issue with decals on polysurfaces that have more than one material.
I finally updated the intel video drivers and also ran some updates from the HP website. Restarted the PC and tested a decal again in a basic solid. No luck. The decal only shows after Rhino Render bot not on any view mode as you can see in my screenshot. The solid has no color, materials, or textures added.
What is the date on your Intel driver now?
Also, in Options > View > Rendered, click on the Restore Defaults button.
Here’s the video card info. According to the HP assistant, it is all up-to-date. I also reset the video settings to default, as you recommended. Closed and restarted Rhino and ran the decal test as before. Still nada. Any other suggestions?
That “HP Assistant” is wrong.
They fail nearly 100% of the time.
The link I looked up and included in my reply from 4 days ago. is a direct link to the current driver dated 29 May 2020.
Please try installing it and see if that fixes your problem.
Hi, John
You are correct. I though it did, but Intel didn’t update the driver after all, it was HP instead. I just checked at the Intel driver update and this is the message i got. Is there a way to override this and install an Intel update without risking “destabilizing” the system, as they claim?
BTW, the driver did update from a 2018 to a 2019 version thou.
Dang it…
The new driver from Intel is supposed to have fixed that bit of unproductive foolishness.
Here’s a link for the steps to fix that problem:
All, right. I followed the “how-to” to the letter and successfully installed the Intel version of the driver. Restarted and …Bummer. No joy still. This is an all-in-one HP PC at work and we’re evaluating Rhino for possible use. At home, I use Rhino on a much older Dell computer and it works like a charm. This is weird.
Here’s is how Rhino’s systeminfo reads now:

Good. You have the right driver going now.
Thanks
That’s only the top portion of the SystemInfo.
Can you please post the rest of it too?
It’s possible a plug-in might be interfering too.
Sorry about that. Here it goes…

I do not see any problem there in plug-ins.
I do see one possibility.
What is the resolution of the image file you’re using for the decal?
If it is a high resolution image, that could be the problem.
Your little under powered Intel card only has 1GB of VRAM avalible.
Rhino’s System Requirements suggest a minimum of 4GB for each standard resolution monitor, and 8GB for each high resolution monitor, and those are minimums. A relatively high resolution image used for a decal could easily overrun what little resource you have available.
If you want to, you can post your file with the decal so we can see it it works on a system with better resources to work with.
John. I really appreciate you going all the way through this with me. You rock.
The files I am testing decaling with, are actually low-res RGB images i had laying around. One is a JPG, the other a PNG. Both are 72dpi, less than 30kb each and no more than 400pix wide.
Here they are if you can to try them on your end.
