Custom Profile - L-Profile

Hello,

i want to construct a simple Pergola in my garden with L-Profiles. For a beam i want to use two L-Profiles back to back with 1cm space in between (see attatched photo). Is it possible to simulate this somehow? Is it possible to create a custom profile or is there maybe some kind of work-around?

Thank you very much in advance!

Dear Benedikt. Happy to help, but Need more Info from you:
What do you want to use karamba for?
Please Upload what you all ready did in grasshopper. Then we go from there.

Hi, currently custom profiles or assymetric sections are not available in Karamba3D, we are working on this at the moment. A workaround is to use a polyline to simulate the properties of the section 3.9.17: Cross Section Properties | Karamba3D v3 which you can use to modify an existing cross section, the only problem is that the shape in the BeamView will not change.

The postprocessing will not adapt, but otherwise the general results should be fine, right?

Hi Benedict,

I think a T-profile would be the best choice in your case. One can get that by reducing the upper width of an I-profile to zero.
