Crash When Importing Large FBX File

Hi everyone, I hope someone here can help.

I’m running Rhino v5.4 on a Mac Pro 3.5 GHz 6-core intel xeon E5 with 16GB of DDR3. As soon as I try importing an 830MB .fbx file into a new session, Rhino freezes up and eventually crashes. I know of people running heavier files with the same processing capabilities and not experiencing any issues.

Any idea what might be causing this?

I should mention that the original file came as a .rar for which I had to use a 3rd party site to unzip and extract the .fbx

Any guidance is greatly appreciated!

Hello - please upload the file, zipped, to
www.rhino3d.com/upload
We’ll see if we can reproduce the problem.

Use 7-zip from 7-zip.org

@habibfadel - we see a problem with the file you provided -right now it does not look like a strictly Rhino problem - is it OK if we send this file to the developers of the FBX format (Autodesk) ?

thanks,

-Pascal
