Crash "unhandled win32 exception occured in [8216] rhino.exe"

I seem to be getting regular crashes when dragging materials from the materials panel into the libraries panel.

The program completely stops and doesn’t even generate a dump/crash file

I couldn’t even take a screenshot and had to take this with my phone:

Is this fixable? Is it a windows/rhino/visual studio issue?

How is Rhino use related to Visual Studio? What exactly are you doing? Or do you just have a VS instance active for something else while using Rhino?

i have no idea lol, i think it’s something to do with how windows does debugging but your guess is as good as mine

as to what it is im doing, im just applying materials to rhino models and then dragging them into a folder in the libraries panel for consistency. nothing else going on on the pc outside of listening to music and surfing the web

Hi Andy -

Just to make sure, “The program completely stops” - is that limited to Rhino? Or does the entire OS freeze and you need to reboot the machine?
-wim

the entire OS slows and if i let it run long enough, the OS will go back to normal, rhino whitescreens and then shows the attached error.

Update: just happened again only this time I had installed visual studio’s just-in-time debugger which stated the following:

Unhandled exception at 0x00007FFBE1BFC525 (nvoglv64.dll) in Rhino.exe: Fatal program exit requested.
