what does this button do?
I was assuming that it would change the cplane to the WCS and back, but it seems not to work.

Toggle that displays the x/y/z coordinates of the mouse cursor location relative to either the world or the current cplane on the status bar.

When the working plane of Perspective is not the default XY Plane, you will find that there will be difference in the coordinate values of the cursor when you click this button.
