Hello, Im sure there is something that Im missing here but after watching some tutorials, Im still not able to orient my Cplane where I want it regardless as to whether Im using object or surface to orient it to?
Suggestions?
Thanks,
Rick
Hello Richard,
Can you you explain the steps you are taking and the results you are getting? Screen shots would be helpful also.
Orienting the CPlane to an object or surface should be fairly simple. Just run the _CPlane command select either the Object or Surface option and click your object.
You may need to orient the X and Y Axes of the resulting CPlane to get the desired result. The _CPlane command with the 3 Point or Rotate options are useful here.

Also make sure that (in case you use the 3 point option) ‘Project’ in OSnap bar is turned off.
Ortho mode is also useful for re-orienting the initial axes you get from the Object or Surface options of the _CPlane command.

Hi Kev,
Yes, I agree, it should be a simple process and Ive done it before but for some reason today none of the CPlane tools were working for me. I followed every command line prompt with no success. This evening Im back in the program and it seems to be working again? Not sure what the hiccup was? Thanks for reaching out!
Great! I will make sure thats the case.
Thanks,
Rick
