"Could Not Find Block" error in Elefront/GH

Hi Guys!

Running in to an error when trying to reference/place blocks in Elefont. Get the error “Could not find x block” even though the blocks are definitely there (as seen by “list blocks” component. Has anyone run accross this and know how to fix it?

Thanks

This may sound IT’ish, but have you tried turning it off and on again?

Seriously tho, I ran into the same issue, and it was fixed by saving anything that had to do with the file (I had linked blocks referenced), closing and reopening again

Hope it helps!

I tried that and also importing them into a new project, importing into a project I’m working on etc. Sometimes some of them work and sometimes only 1 will work and the rest won’t. Honestly don’t know how to resolve it, doesn’t matter if I use the “list blocks in document” or just manually type it out in a panel.

I see, and how about this?, I’m doing the following and have found it a bit more stable:

I’m not sure you can see it that well, but here I have a base file with a matrix of all the blocks I need, then I use the “Reference by block name component” to import the blocks from said file. In order to expose the F parameter you need to zoom in until you see the “+” and then click on it

It’s a workaround and I would recommend plugin a data dam after it in case you are working with files stored on a server otherwise it can get pretty slow; If your files are hosted locally, depending on your disk speed, it won’t be a big deal I hope.

Awesome I will give it a shot next time in rhino
