Hi everyone!
I’ve been using Rhino 3D for about a year, but I haven’t really focused on organic modeling. I’m having a hard time figuring out how to model this object — could anyone please show me the right approach? I’d really appreciate your help! ![]()
Please give it a try with Revolve, SubCrv, ArrayPolar, Pipe, BooleanDifference, and FilletEdge. For you reference.

@jessesn method works even better when used with the Pipe command.

Thank you so much!
Thanks a lot!
I would think, the rounded ends of the flutes reach into a small fillet between the concave and straight parts of the main form.
So, I’d build a, say, 5° segment with Pipe, Revolve, Split (surface intersected by the pipe in two halves), FilletSrf and Revolve (copy option) that around.
This one is really good too, thank you.
I think I misunderstood — I just can’t seem to get it right. Could you maybe show me with a video? I’d really appreciate it!
No time for a vid, but here’s a 3DM file.

Thank you so much.
