Concave and convex surface modelling

Hi ,

I would like to know what is the best way to create a convex / concave surface within a visible parting all around in Rhino as per example below :

Hi Jerman - by this do you mean that you are starting with a known parting line and you want to surface within it? The tools to use will vary with the situation, do you have a specific example?

A quick answer could be _RailRevolve in both examples.

Below is one example ( Pink color ) that I want to duplicate :

The parting line in this example is on a flat plane , however , the parting line can also be on a free form plane.

Hopefully , you guys can provide some example.

as I said, you can use RailRevolve, NetwrokSrf or sweep by pairs, it depends on what do you want to do with those surfaces later.
