Color dialogue missing color wheel, rgb etc

I can’t get Rhino to show anything else than crayons when I try to change colors on object and layers etc! I miss the color wheel, rgb sliders, greyscale settings and more… Please help!

The Color Picker is a system wide tool and not specific to Rhino. Rhino doesn’t disable any of the palette options that are available in the Color Picker. If you look at the Color Picker in another program, like Mail, I’m sure you’ll see the same problem. In Mail, select Format > Show Colors to show the Color Picker.

Thank you for the reply Martin. Unfortunately the problem seems to occur only in Rhino, in other program (like Mail), the Color Picker shows all palettes. I updated to the latest version of Rhino (2013-12-03) but the problem remains. Do you have any other hints for me to try?

HI Jakob - you do not see the icons across the top of the color picker, or they do not change the picker when clicked?

thanks,

-Pascal

The icons don’t show at all! So there’s nothing to click…

That is odd- here is what I see- the icons are above the gray bar.

Please post your OpenGL settings so we can see your hardware and software configuration.

Try restarting your Mac in Safe Mode http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1564 and try the test again.

Hi Marlin!

This is how it looks for me.

I make use the http://www.coolorus.com/ system wide colour picker and this doesn’t work with the current Rhino beta either. It works perfectly with every other application I use on OS X.

It’s a different problem to the one described above though. Coolorus is available to me as one of the available tabs on the system colour picker but Rhino doesn’t accept any colour selections from the picker.

I’ve also reported this problem to the developers of Coolorus.

This is still a mystery to me. I’ve looked at the Mac Rhino preferences and there are some Color Panel settings in there, so the Color Panel is recording some information in each application.

Quit Rhino and move Rhino’s preference file somewhere else, then restart Rhino. See http://wiki.mcneel.com/rhino/mac/resetprefs for details.
