Hi,
I’m having difficulties with ClippingSections. I’ve duplicated a model and made 2 ClippingSections twice, which should be more or less the same. But they don’t display the same in the LayoutViewport. One ClippingPlane does not clip.
All 4 ClippingPlane settings include Selected Objects.
If I turn the parameter of the 4 ClippingPlane to Objects Clipped > All then the 4 sections are clipping in the LayoutViewport.
It’s as if there are problems with ClippingPlane with object selections when there are several of them. The problem doesn’t seem to appear if there are only one or two ClippingPlane.
Linked to this problem, there are also display problems in the LayoutViewport when the ClippingPlane parameters are set to Selected Object. If they are set to All the display doesn’t bug.
I haven’t had any response to this problem. I tried to make a simple file. The problem seems to persist.
There are 5 shapes cut with 5 ClippingPlane. Each ClippingPlane contains one object to be cut. These 5 shapes should appear with their respective cuts in black in the layout. ⇩
However, when you double-click in a Detail and exit it, the display of the cuts changes. Some cuts don’t even appear at all anymore. It’s not just a display problem: when printed, two cuts don’t appear. (see video) ⇩
I understand now! Sorry for the misunderstanding. I had in mind that objects not selected when setting Objects Clipped > Include selected are not considered and therefore absent from the model, as hidden. But this is not the case.
The alternative is therefore to use a depth for the ClippingPlane, to avoid seeing unselected objects.
The remaining problem is therefore the unstable display, which flickers every time there is a movement or zoom. This also happens in perspective view:
Is there anything I can do, or is this an internal Rhino issue?
