Clippingplane only clips in viewport in which it was created.
In the other view the clipping plane doesn’t clip.
Not sure if this was a new feature or was like this before.
Also was it not possible to get dimension of clipped area?
With the clipping plane selected, in Properties there will be a tab for the views to clip, check which ones you want…
