For me it’s a hassle to use clipping-planes for model evaluation.
I would like to opt for additional options that set the views in which a clipping-plane is clipping.
In addition to the option to activate specific views and details I’d like to add some general overriding options:
▢ Active Viewport Only
▢ All But Active Viewports
▢ All Viewports *
(*it could be condensed to only the first 2 options as both of these checked is equal to the third option)
This saves the hassle of needing to go into the cp properties panel to check boxes in order to make the cp clip in a specific view.
Note that this is specific (in my case) when using the cp to evaluate a model; what I do than is drag and rotate the cp around to evaluate clearances and internals of my model.
Another great tool would be a clipping box as mimicked below by 6 clippingplanes:
Note that there is a ‘bug’ because the outlines of a clippingplane is not clipped by other clippingplanes.
