I’m in urgent need of help. Basically, every time I make2d using a clipping plane, it would automatically generate a clipping plane intersection even though i never asked it to. This results in all my lines getting messed up and it’s added hours to my workflow, making this unsustainable.
The problem came out of nowhere, where I turned on intersections for one drawing, then later decided not to use it for the rest of my drawings, only for it to continuously generate it no matter what I do.
Worst part is, i’ve tried exporting to a new file; still didn’t work. I’ve tried copying my model and pasting it into a new file; didn’t work. I’ve tried lowering/increasing tolerance; didn’t work. I’ve tried downloading Rhino 8 (i’m on rhino 7) and the intersections still generated for no reason. I’ve even brought it from my macbook to my pc and the intersections ended up following too, it’s like the plague. I’ve tried random finnicky things such as closing my file and closing rhino. I’ve tried a combination of all the possible settings within the make2d popup. As a test, I made a new file, placed a box down, added a clipping plane cutting through it, i did a make2d of it from top view, and a clippingplane intersection showed up… absolutely insane…
What’s even WORSE, is this plague spread to basically every rhino model I have. Even very simple models would generate a clipping plane intersection resulting in overlapping and loads of missing lines. This is not only screwing over my current project in my master’s program, but i’m royally screwed with all my future projects as long as I’m using rhino.
I see that unchecking the intersections option in the Make2D options doesn’t affect the output
→ RH-84978 Make2D: Creates Unwanted Clipping Plane Intersections
You didn’t mention in which viewport and with which options you created the clipping plane. Please always post a 3dm file! Just following those instructions, clipping plane intersections do not show up where I would not want them.
I can’t figure out if you are reporting clipping plane intersections get generated from views that are not clipped… Can you post a scene where you would not want the clipping plane intersections that are being created?

The file upload limit here is 20mb so I attached my rhino file:
I made a make2d of a perspective with these settings, where clipping plane intersections is selection in the make2d settings, as attached in the screenshot.
I then showed what it looks like with the clipping plane intersection layer turned on and off:
Next, I showed you what it looks like with “clipping plane intersections” unchecked in the make2d settings, and turned the layer on and off, as you can see the clipping plane intersections still show up and when I turn the layer off, It gets rid of all my lines, I dont know if this is normal but from my experience it should not be like this:
You can see all of this in the Rhino File I have attached
Please let me know if this is a bug or something I can fix, I have tried it with multiple models and files and does not seem to work.
