Clipping anomaly

Here’s a file I’ve been working on in v8. The main file is Site Model Clipped.3dm and the other 2 files are inserted as linked blocks.
When I open it in (8.0.22319.12305, 2022-11-15), there appears to be a clipping plane active, but I can’t find one in the model.
Prior to that update, this problem didn’t show up.
I’ve turned on and unlocked all of the layers in all details and globally, I think, and checked for locked and hidden objects.
I can’t locate a clipping plane that should cause this. There are a couple of clipping planes in one of the inserted blocks, but deleting them and updating the block instance doesn’t seem to help anything.
If I make a new perspective viewport, it doesn’t have the problem, so it’s I can work around it. Just something that would be good to fix.

Hey Lowell -
I see that here as well.

Note that the “Shop Model” block is not linked but embedded.
When I open the “Shop Model.3dm” file and copy the vertical clipping plane in that file and paste it in the “Site Model Clipped.3dm” file, it is in the location where the perspective viewport is clipped.

Also, double clicking that block to enter block edit mode and exiting that mode again right away, clears up this clipping issue. That seems to indicate that, somehow, the original position of that block is active in that viewport. I’m thinking we’d need steps to reproduce this state but I’ve asked others to take a look.

Thanks for looking, Wim.

Steps to reproduce may be a little elusive.
The closest I can come now is that I closed it one evening using the previous weekly update build, got an update when I shut down and opened it in the current build the next day.
If you want to send me an installer from last week and this week, I’ll see if I can reproduce it.

I don’t know where in that process I missed inserting it as linked. I guess that may have something to do with it.

Thanks,
Lowell

Hi Lowell -

Steve will take a look at the model when he gets time and it would somewhat surprise me if this were a change that snuck into a version, but if you have the time and want to run it through a quick check, by all means! Are you on public builds? These were the two latest public WIPs:
Current: 8.0.22319.12305 - November 15th
Previous: 8.0.22305.12305 - November 1st

Cheers,

Thanks, Wim. I can’t repeat this problem switching between build versions (or otherwise).
