Change object layer from status bar

From the ‘Rhino Level 1 Training Guide’:

Note: If objects are selected, and a layer is selected from the Status Bar, the highlighted objects will be changed to the selected layer and the current layer does not change.

When I try to do this, I get a different behavior, the highlighted objects are not changed to the selected layer, and the current layer does change.

But if I click directly on the name of the layer, i get the opposite (but correct) behavior.

Maybe it is supposed to be like this, but I could not find any documentation about it. I am using version 8.1 for Mac.

Does it work like this on the Windows version as well?

Hello- if you click in the ‘current’ column, what you describe is indeed the result - the current layer is changed but objects do not change layer.
