Change command default options

Hello,

Is there a way to change a command’s default options? In particular, when I use the ‘Insert’ command to insert a block into Rhino, the default option for ‘Block definition type’ is ‘Embedded’, but I’d like the default option to be ‘Linked’, so that I never make the mistake of using ‘Embedded’.

Attaching image for reference.

Thanks!
Juan

Hi Juan -

You can make a macro that sets the link mode and put that on a button or an alias.

Hi @wim ! Thank you very much for your response.

Would you mind being a little bit more descriptive about how to do it? I’m not very savvy in this area and would appreciate some help. Maybe filming a quick video or screenshots would be really helpful.

Thank you!
Juan

Hi Juan -

I don’t have a PC available at the moment.
Just start the Insert command with a dash in front -Insert and follow the prompts on the command line. When you have like a file, look in the command history and copy the keywords into a single string in the MacroEditor.
-wim

Got it, thanks Wim!
