Don’t know if this is anything you’ve experienced, but… Essentially I can’t open one of my templates after updating rhino 8, and the kicker is I can’t open any of the files I created with that template. I can open up a fresh file with one of the default templates no problem. But anything related to this template just causes an endless loading screen, not even an error.
I’ve even tried importing the problem file into a fresh file, but it still creates endless loading. These are files I’m thankfully no longer working on, however would be great to go back to reference. Also annoying because I don’t want to have to go through the process of making my template again when I’d got it perfect!
Hey Japhy, thanks for the reply. I have just uploaded one of the files that wont open. I don’t believe it references any hosted resources. Let me know if you can open it- I can send the original template as well if this would help
I don’t have access to my mac at the moment (in the middle of workshop actually), when opening in windows i get several missing fonts as well as image resources. I suspect that is where it is getting hung up.
Ah yes, a hangover from older versions of the template… Is there a workaround here? I used to get that notification however it doesn’t even get to that point now- just endless loading… Thanks again for investigating.
Thanks again, think I’ve found a workaround. I have tried on my partner’s mac and he can open it no problem. My mac has lower specs, but before the update it was opening this file fine. Strange! Anyways, when he saved it as as a Rhino 7 file and sent it back to me, I was able to open no problems. Saved as Rhino 8 file and again no issues. So odd… Have all the files again and all working - had to create a new template though.
