Cannot install service release

to update xNurbs from 6.1 to 7.0.1.1 I need to update to SR 14 (at least). current version is rhino 8 SR 9.
when going to options … update and statistics, i get this screen, telling me rhino is up to date (which it is not), everything is greyed out and i cant do anything. can anybode advise how to upgrade.

BTW: are there any known bugs in the latest SR? is there a way to manually download and install SRs like in earlier days?

Hi -

To be able to interact with anything on that page, the “Enable Updates and Usage Statistics” option needs to be checked.

If you can’t check that option, it means that this was disabled when you installed Rhino 8 the first time. You can change that by uninstalling and installing again.

You can always download the latest from https://www.rhino3d.com/download/rhino/8/latest/
If all goes well, in a few hours, that will be SR 20.

Yes, but there are a lot more known bugs in the SR 9 version that you are currently running…

Hello Wim,
thanks for the info, but thats really sad news.
I am a big fan of clean installations, never do any un- and reinstalls (just restore images)

Is there really no other option (registry?)

Clicking your download-link leads me to the the full-version download. No more separate SR-download?

Also I do not really like to be the first to test new SRs (yes I know: someone has to be). Had some bad experiences in the past.
My problem is, I have an important presentation tomorrow morning (xNurbs being part of it) and don´t have the time to struggle around with installation and customization.

So you have some strange aversion to uninstalling software because you think it makes your computer more stable or something, but are eager to go mucking about with the registry? Sense, that makes none.

The “full version download” has so far as it matters always been the latest Service release.

If you don’t want to be the first to test new SRs then…just have the update frequency set to “Service Release” instead of “Service release candidate.”

depends on how safe one feels editing the registry.

thanks for that one.
