If I try and delete a display mode in Rhino Options, it appears successful, but when I then open Options again, the display mode is back.

Default display modes like Wireframe, Shaded, etc. automatically regenerate with defaults if they are deleted.
User created named display modes (not default names) should delete and stay gone.
Does this more accurately describe the behavior you are seeing?
No, over here if I create a copy of Rendered, I then can’t successfully delete it. It appears deleted, but as soon as I close the properties window, the mode is available again in the view’s display mode menu, and if I reopen properties it is there again. This is in v6.0.15020.19041, 1/20/2015

I can’t see this issue on myjetbrains (don’t have permission), so perhaps this is still in progress, but just wanted to say that while I can now delete display modes and they stay deleted in session, they still reappear when Rhino is rebooted.

The developer has it listed as “In progress” meaning he’s working on it but it’s not fixed yet.
I had to work from home today, so I installed v6 on my home machine (no prior Rhino installations at all). On this install, I am seeing that I also cannot add display modes, or change any of the pre-canned ones and have the changes stick. I would assume this is the same issue I had been seeing before with not being able to delete display modes. This is in 6.0.15188.15091, 7/7/2015.

Is there a local directory for default display mode *.ini files or are these stored in the registry?
If I compile a set of display modes that I want to deploy firmwide is there a way to script this import from a directory or do I have to direct my users to import via the Document Properties > Display Modes?
