Traditionally, Autodesk provides us a .3dm file importing workflow with several redundant steps.
In this workflow, firstly, we should export a .3dm file with every group of elements in a unique layer with unique RGB color in order to assign material. And then, after we import the .3dm file into the Revit family environment, we should find the material with the color which is similar to what we assign in Rhino. Then we can apply the material successfully. And the interoperability workflow is over.
I think this inefficient workflow is still necessry for some curved elements which can’t be simply defined as walls, beams and so on. And I find there isn’t any function in RiR directly respond to this workflow. So will RiR support this importing workflow?
