Building curve degree 1 2° angle form spline

hello, i’ve got a curve degree 3, and i want to _rebuild it, to degree 1 but with only one condition, the angle between to segment of the new curve must be up to 2°:

spline is green, the blue one is the new one… i search for make a python script but i don’t know how to begin… have you an idea?

Hi @onlyforpeace
If I understand your request correctly, use Convert with all parameters set to 0 except for Angle Tolerance, which should be set to 2°.

HTH, Jakob

yes… but it’s not really that… because i need tengancy, and on my first capture, i must write 178°<angle<180° not max 2°!!! excuse for confusion…

I am searching, and more I draw and more i think it’s really difficult to find a solution…

The ultimate purpose of this is that I need to bend a tube around a complex shape. By creating a saw cut along my 2mm wide steel tube (the width of the saw blade), this cut allows for a slight bend in the tube of about 2°. Therefore, by determining the correct spacing between the saw cuts, I can adapt to various shapes that are somewhat complex, within reasonable limits, of course. However, the issue arises when the shape is convex; the tube comes into contact with the shape tangentially. Conversely, if the shape is concave, it’s the bend of the tube that makes contact with the shape. If the same shape has both convex and concave parts, then it becomes more complicated.

Hello - can you post a file with the curve and approximate polyline?
