The gumball doesn’t shows the line for cutting when the selected curve is Perpedicular to the Cplane.
Still the cut function works by selecting the blue arrow in the middle.
I don’t know if is on pourpose but to me looks like a bug.

Can you send a file that shows this? I cannot repeat that behavior here. Does this happen after relocating the gumball? What is your GB set to be aligned to? Object, World, Cplane?
