I’m playing around with V8 [Version 8 SR1 - (8.1.23325.13001, 2023-11-21]
and the _ClippingDrawings tools has a big problem handling the position of the drawings.
If I make a real section it works positioning the drawing where I pick but if I make a view with the section plane out of the object the corresponding drawing is out of center.

Hi @skysurfer thank you for sharing. I fixed an important placement bugs in ClippingDrawings command here… It will be included in SR 8.3. It should help with the issue you have. It also ensures consistent placement.
Also, I noticed you place drawings directly in the layout? It is best to place inside a “Detail” to ensure good scale control.
Hi @rajaa you may be right but this make the modelling space a real mess.
It could work if you’re working with scaled drawing like Architecture but in Productc design you try to always make the drawing into 1:1 and this is way putting the Sections in Layout is the best solution for me.
Ideally shouldn’t be any difference.

PS: speaking of mess… the amount of layer the sections are creating is also making the Layer panel very crowdy and not nice. I know it’s a lot of work but having the sections on a specific panel would be the best.
Like Cplanes, Named Views, Layouts etc…
