BUG: Selectionfilter appearing

Hi,

Why does the selection filter panel/container appear like this when I execute _SelectionFilterEdges? I have the panel docked in the right sidebar, so I do not see why it should also appear as a floating panel?

  1. Load TestLayout.rhw (49.2 KB) through _WindowLayout.
  2. Execute _SelectionFilterEdges, _SelectionFilterFaces etc…

Here is more abnormal behavior.

  1. Load TestLayout.rhw (49.2 KB) through _WindowLayout.
  2. Execute the command _SelectionFilterVertices
  3. Close the selectionfilter panel/container that randomly appears.
  4. Select some non-point objects (like a surface etc).
  5. Observe that the selectionfilter panel/container appears again (notice the panel flashing as well).

McNeel typically responds, but it seems this one slipped through. Can anyone reproduce this behavior? Is it a bug or a feature? @wim, @Gijs?

The flashing is normal behavior, it’s made so to warn you that you are trying to select stuff that is filtered out. So that’s also the reason why it pops up.

If you can send me your setup in pm I can probably figure out the issue of the double containers.
For this, run the _Reset command, and click the “Save settings for support” button and send me the resulting zip file.

Did not know that, but it makes perfectly sense.

I have the filter panel docked in the right sidebar, so I do not see why it should also appear as a floating panel tbh.

Sure, give me some minutes.
Edit: PM sent.

hi @AMG if you go to _Containers after that dialog has popped up, you will notice there are two Osnap containers. Delete the one you no longer need, that should fix this issue.

Deleting one works, but each time I start a new session there is two Osnap containers?

yes, seeing that now too…

There are actually three (Mac only) bugs:

  1. RH-84017 Misaligned text in Containers panel
  2. RH-84018 Double Osnap Container
  3. RH-84019 Container cannot be deleted
