I have this weird weird bug happening oh R8 for Mac…
When I type on my AZERTY keyboard the shortcut “z” to call the Zoom command, the Command field inputs a “w” instead, at least 50% of the time 
This is very annoying – and it’s not an OS-related issue, it’s just on R8 – e.g. R7 works as expected.
Edit: It happens really often when I right click on a layer in the Layer Panel, do → Select Objects, and then type “z”, and the command field shows a “w” instead.

When you type “z”, is the layers panel active? Or is a Rhino viewport active?

It’d be interesting to know if you get sometimes a q when you type a. I use a non-qwerty layout on all my machines - windows and mac, but I have never seen such behavior. The QWERTY row for me reads PHRK>.
Yes, I just tried to type an A and got a Q instead.
I can easily replicate this behaviour in a particular model I am working on – I PM you.

This is on Sonoma 14.1.1 with custom key layout as shown above.
Anyone should be able to reproduce by selecting a different key layout, like AZERTY. No need to get a different keyboard for that.

To ensure it doesn’t get lost I logged it as: RH-78406 With Layer Panel focused it overrides keyboard layout input

Rhino8. My god. Broken gumball, broken graphics, broken UI, even broken keyboard inputs…
Workaround: click in viewport before typing command.
(note, I used word workaround - not a permanent solution).
Any chance this could be addressed soon?
