Bug - "Delete Object" on exiting block edit

Hi McNeel

I sometimes get this error on exiting “block edit” with “ok”.
After clicking “OK” the dialog box reappears. I have to hold down escape for a while to get out of this state.
After this, the block appeared as it was before I started the edit.

Version : (8.5.24072.13001, 2024-03-12)
Rhino on windows.

I managed to reproduce this.
The steps are:

  1. Edit block.
  2. Attach model.
  3. Exit block edit.

I also think there are cases but maybe this could be a way to understand the issue.

Am i understanding correctly that you are attaching a worksession inside the edit block command?

I’m able to repeat this, in Rhino 7 as well.

Is this a workflow you are trying to do (attach a worksession inside a block)?

Thank you for getting back to me.
Yes, that is correct.
I recognise that it is a strange scenario and it’s not something that I tipplely do. However, I feel like I experienced this bug relatively often. So I don’t think that is only related to this scenario. This was just the case where I was able to track down the reason for the bug.
My thinking was that if you were able to produce the error maybe it would be possible to track down other scenarios where this could happen.

I Just experienced this bug as well. By accident i attached a worksession while editing a block. When I then tried to save my file (while inside of the block) i became stuck in the “delete object” dialog box. Losing what i had updated in the block while trying to fix the problem.
