Avoiding problems present in Rhino 8.6.24074 i rolled back to Rhino 8.4.24037 but unfortunatelly, here I’m dealing with other Content Cache issues. I’m exporting Block Definitions and Transformation Data from one file as a .ghdata and use it in different GH Definition on another computer. Regular baking of Block Instances works just fine, it creates Block Definitions and populate Block Instances in the scene, but Content Cache can’t do it, it just creates invalid Block Definitions (without geometry inside).

I’ve sent files to the tech support and pointed to this thread.

Thanks, I’ll see what we can do in handing the ghdata input.

Would getting the on these ways to import the Block Definition this way suffice?

I need to investigate that. Ghdata was tempting because I didn’t have to convert anything, the tree structure was intact, etc. Very straightforward. I still can export transform data using Ghdata but I need to take care to recreate tree structure / list order when importing Block Definitions using separate components.

To paint a bigger picture: I’m manually creating Blocks out of Revit elements, that on separate Layers have NURBS geometry and Display Meshes. Once done that, I want to send that data to another computer where Block Definitions are edited by adding Shrink Wrap mesh on another Layer. - This process is time and energy consuming so I don’t want to make it on the same computer that I’m using Revit. After this process is done I want to bring back edited Block Definitions to the computer with Revit and do further operations. Probably there are a few other ways of doing that. Maybe I can just export and link Block Definitions, but as I said Ghdata seemed to be the most straightforward for me.
