Hello all, hope some of you might have insight on this issue. Here’s a sample workflow that adds to a Block definition an “id” User Text containing the index of each object inside the block:
For one of my students, this process fails with Content Cache error:
Failed to push Model Block Definition : 0708 at {0} (0)
The process works on any other of my students’ computers (and on mine), so I am thinking the cause could lay on some peculiar system configuration she might have. Unfortunately, this is beyond my capacity to understand (also because I cannot replicate the error).
Hi @scottd , my computer (and everyone else’s in the class) is on the same version (SRC 8.14.24325.13001). The AssembleRh plugin is a tool I made for them, they all have it and the puzzling thing to me is that it works for everyone (both on Windows and Mac OS) except for her, even testing it on the same file. Hence my guess was that it had to do with her specific configuration.
I just noticed her NVIDIA drivers are dated 2023 (I’ll tell her to update them), but is it possible that this might affect the Content Cache behaviour?
Thanks for the DM, I’ll forward it to my student and see if it works.
It woulad be highly unusual for this to be a video driver issue. Both the Nvidia and Intel drivers are old, do they could be updated. That is a good practice to do anyway.
Are windows updates happening in the computer? Run check for updates.
Is it possible that a path or data is tied to a name on that computer that has a unusual character?
She also updated her drivers on my request but still no luck. I’ll have to check for win updates and/or unusual characters on her paths or data, I’ll do that on Monday.
I understand this is a very unusual situation, I’m puzzled as well, thank you for the help so far in any case!
Update: I built the same procedure using components from Elefront to update User Texts inside the Block definition, and the procedure works on her computer. She does not have unusual characters in her path, and no Windows updates pending or ongoing. She has a partitioned HD, but both Rhino and the files she’s using are on the primary partition.
Here attached the gh file that uses Elefront (it applies to the same Rhino file attached in the first post). tag block_Elefront.gh (16.4 KB)
