Hi,
The current Blockeditor
has some flaws as everyone knows. A problem that I have seen with other users and personally I experience daily is the overview of the list itself.
Others and myself have a lot of nested blocks containing even more blocks in our drawings. This makes the list really really long and also difficult to navigate. To make this request simpel I want to ask this simpel fix:
Collaps/Fold nested blocks by default.
Top of my head I know 2 posts that asked for it:

Are there any updates on BlockEdit?
I welcome the new block manager panel… but I haven’t found it particularly useful in reality yet, apart from a few features. I use blocks a lot.
When working on existing blocks, I rarely use the block manager; I double-click into the blocks. It’s much easier to find what you want visually in 3D than with a long menu of block names.
This becomes especially difficult when working with hundreds of blocks with hundreds of nested blocks. It’s extremely clumsy.

Personally I have asked before in:
Hi there,
Does anyone know plugin / setting to make the blockeditor more useful when have a large amount of nested blocks.
So in my blocks there are multiple nested blocks, and each one of those could also have nested blocks within. Now when I open a block al the blocks are unfolded and the list becomes extremely long. To to point that i first need to close all those blocks to get a clear overview what is in that block.
So now its this:

And I would rather have it that every time I …
I don’t think this is in YouTrack yet.
Can someone of McNeel give there opinion about this?

Just thought about this topic and decided that I’m not going to give up on this idea
Other programs have this function as well.
Notepadd++ and PyCharm both have functions for this. Probably many more.
We need these functions for Rhino.
