Block Management Tools Need Improvements

Are you referring to display speed of blocks or the tools surrounding the management of blocks?

WISH / BlockManager : Block re-naming

I wish it was possible to edit a block’s name directly in the block list, and not have to open each “Block definition properties” dialog. A block name filter accepting wildcards would also be very helpful, and why not a “Replace” feature, to allow batch renaming ? Hi, Here is an illustration of what I would like BlockEdit to do :

Nested block edit : alpha-numeric sorting

Please sort the block names alpha-numerically in the Blockedit window in the case of nested blocks. [Alpha-numeric sorting] Thank you

Jumbled-up block selection highlight

The block selection has gone nuts again :

Edition of sub-blocks in wireframe mode

Now when you edit a sub-block in wireframe mode, the other sub-blocks disappear. In shaded mode, it’s still the ugly mesh super-imposittion but the other sub-blocks are still there. Check it out. May I suggest that either you get to work seriously on block edition, or just leave it in it’s V5 misery which is at least bearable ?

You can also look in the old newsgroup and search for rants about blocks, since they are still relevant.
