Blending between base brep and diamond panels

Hi all!

I’ve been following a few tutorials on how to create a diamond pattern in Grasshopper and then using attractor points to fade it to zero. That works perfectly, but the problem is I need this pattern to happen on a curved surface. And while the fading happens like it should, the surface stays divided into diamonds, so it is not completely smooth.

Is there a way to also blend in the original surface while the diamonds fade?

I just started using Grasshopper and I think I got myself too deep with this project, but I now need to finish it and am just missing this detail.

Here is my GH and Rhino file.

patternRhino.3dm (3.8 MB)

This is not the final shape, but at the top you can see the segmentation I’m talking about. I would like to make the top edge a perfect circle, but don’t know how to blend in the original.

I used this tutorial to create the fading effect, but modified it to use points from my curves as attractors. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kD7xHcECQ0k&list=PLH4mR0_T-RX2ux_xAJcQE8zKZPMl5g0OL&index=62&t=32s

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated, thank you and happy holidays!

Does anyone have any idea into what direction should I look? Any hint would really help me.

I have currently come as far as to divide each diamond into points and pull that points to the sweep surface. But I don’t know how to then create the diamonds surface again, or if this is even the right direction.
