When I open rhino all 4 viewports are black. If I open an existing project I can see the layers on the right but I still can’t see any of the work in the viewports. I ran the compatibility troubleshooter on my computer it says that “Rhino is incompatible.” Seems like a computer issue… but I’m stumped on what to do.

Please type systemInfo in the Rhino command line and paste the results here.
You most likely have a 1gb video card or a Radeon card. AMD Radeons have had issues with drivers but will work if you reduce the load by unchecking the GPU tessellation in the File>Properties>View>OpenGL dialog.

1GB is well below the system requirements. You may be able to limp along if keep as much geometry turned off as possible, work in one viewport & always in Wireframe.
A driver update alone might solve the Black Screens, if not turn down your openGL settings (same dialog as the GPU tessellation)
