Best method for fillet edge this object?

What is best method for fillet edge this object, I have used .02 inch rad and I get a gap at end how should that be filled ?

I tried EdgeSrf, better than patch but is that correct or did I goof before even getting that far ?

Hi Steve - Untrim, ExtendSrf those two surfaces through each other, trim them to one another and then Join it all back up again.
