Best approach for smooth dome with grooves – SubD or NURBS?

I’m trying to model a small dome with a few soft grooves and a flat base.

Which approach would you recommend for this kind of smooth, organic geometry — SubD or NURBS?

Looking for something clean, symmetrical, and without pinching.

Soft grooves…

any combination of SubD, mesh and / or NURBS and then shrinkwrap everything if necessary smoothen and shrinkwrap again

Hey Martin, thanks for the tip!
Could you maybe show me a quick rundown of how you’d do the “SubD + ShrinkWrap” workflow for this?
I’m aiming for a small chocolate-shaped dome with a few smooth grooves and a flat base.
Stuff I’d love to see:
– What base shape you start with in SubD
– How you add the edge loops so the grooves are clean and even
– When (or if) you’d QuadRemesh before ShrinkWrap
– Any ShrinkWrap settings you like (size, adaptivity, smoothing)
– How to keep that bottom perfectly flat
If you have a quick screen capture or a sample file, that’d be awesome.
