Automatically place objects under layers regarding their thicknesses

Hello all,

My question will be about classifying the objects in Rhino session by their thicknesses. Are we able to create some tool or automate the proccess to manuplate each seperate objects to be layered regarding theird width? It may be a question for developers but I just wonder about the idea. Feel free to share your opinions please.

You could do this with Grasshopper. More or less automated. A simple way would be to create bounding boxes and deconstruct the diagonal vector or box Z domain. Then bake either manually or with Elefront.
