Automatic control points don't work with curves created by make 2D?

I just notices something. Automatic control points don’t work with curves created by make 2D. Is this just me? If I draw a curve and select it control points show. However, when I select curves created by Make2D I have to switch on points for each one.

Are the curves Grouped?
That’s an option in Make2D command:
